Update from Electri-Cord Mexico [04/07/20]:
Please be informed that Electri-Cord S de R.L. de C.V. has been designated as an essential manufacturing business because it is part of the supply chain of the Telecommunications and Medical Product Markets that have been classified in the same way by the Mexico Federal Government through the agreements published in the official Gazette of the federation with dates March 31 and April 6 both on 2020.
Due to the above, Electri-Cord will remain open with normal operations at the plant located in Tlaquepaque, Jalisco, which will in some cases be with office staff or other associates that can achieve business continuity by working remotely. Electri-Cord continues to be disciplined in its enforcement of all prevention and hygiene measures, strictly complying and executing the official indications of the Mexico Ministry of Health.
Electri-Cord reiterates it commitment to our customers, employees and society in general to give all the support that is within our reach in this unfortunate worldwide crisis caused by COVID-19.
Sincerely,
Hector Ramon Giron
VP/GM
Dear Valued Customers [03/31/20]:
Dear Valued Customers, With the many recent announcements regarding closures, social distancing, shelter in place and other orders limiting certain activities and business operations issued by local, state, and other government entities, we are writing this letter to confirm that all Electri-Cord Manufacturing locations remain open.
We are categorized as an essential business to the medical device and national security industries. Our healthcare products are crucial to the work of healthcare providers, economic prosperity and continuity of the United States. We play a critical role in the mission of ensuring our customer’s critical healthcare products are delivered to hospitals and other healthcare providers.
As we have all heard, Hospitals, healthcare institutions, and healthcare professionals desperately need increasing quantities of medical devices as quickly as possible. We have seen an increase in customer’s demand for our products which are used in medical equipment – including ventilators, mobile X-ray, CT systems, ultrasound and patient monitors. These critical medical devices are required for the triage and treatment of COVID-19 patients.
We are prioritizing our labor force to support medical products used on “life-sustaining” equipment. Our system has been updated to give priority to customers which have provided official notification of their “essential” status. We are asking that our key suppliers remain open as well to support the evolving needs of our critical customers.
The health and safety of our workers and communities is paramount. Electri-Cord is complying with CDC directives and has taken, implemented, and trained its employees regarding the CDC’s recommendations related to social distancing, sanitation and good hygiene practices. Only those employees and contractors necessary to perform manufacturing operations related to our healthcare products are in our facility, and the remainder of our employees are working from home.
We wish you all well in this time of uncertainty and welcome an open communication on how we can weather the current conditions together.
Sincerely,
Mitch Samuels
President, Owner
To our Valued Customers [03/20/20]:
As the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases continue to rise, the World Health Organization declared this virus outbreak a global pandemic which now affects the entire world. The spread of the virus continues to increase at a significant pace which has prompted major restrictions including businesses ordered closed or reduced staffing to exercise social distancing, level 4 travel bans, closing of borders, and more.
This unprecedented global event has heightened our concerns related to our material supply chain. We continue to reach out to our supply chain partners to understand the effects on their people, facilities, and operations in an effort to properly assess any adverse impacts on near-term business continuity. These concerns also include domestic and international shipments as carriers announce major cuts due to spread of the virus and increasing travel bans.
Our team will continue to advise your company if orders are impacted. Please be assured that Electri-Cord is paying close attention to the events transpiring around the world and is being sensitive to the needs of our employees and customers. We are evaluating our options to mitigate possible impact on open orders.
Previously quoted lead times may also be negatively impacted. We are not able to confirm lead times until orders are placed due to the dynamic situation we are facing.
Thank you for your patience as we work through this serious situation. Should you have any questions, please contact your Sales Representative.
To our Associates [updated 03/19/20]:
Recently, Governor Wolf, of Pennsylvania released a statement ordering all non-life-sustaining businesses to close starting at 8:00PM EDT, 03/19/2020. It is likely other states that Electri-Cord operates in will take similar actions in an effort to slow the spread of the virus.
While it may not be apparent, Electri-Cord is critical to the supply chain of many life-sustaining businesses in the United States and around the World. Our hospital grade medical cords, wiring harnesses and cable assemblies are used on a wide range of life saving medical equipment including ventilators, infusion systems, and laboratory equipment used to test new vaccines. We also support military customers who are mobilizing in an effort to support the medical community in this time of need.
During this time, it is critically important that our manufacturing facilities remain open, that we all remain calm and follow recommended health protocols, so that we can continue to support our customers fighting this global pandemic.
Thank you all for your dedication,
Electri-Cord SLT
